Meet Katie Quick

Your Sapphic Dating & Relationship Therapist in Denver, CO

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Katie—and I know what it’s like to be the heart-centered, sensitive person who feels everything deeply. To replay conversations, search for meaning in every interaction, and wonder whether you’re asking for too much—or somehow still not enough. I know how easy it can be to focus so much on preserving a connection that you slowly lose touch with your own needs, boundaries, and inner knowing.

I also understand how vulnerable queer dating can feel. Finding your person isn’t simply about downloading another app or learning what to say on a first date. It will bring old wounds, protective patterns, and deeply held fears right to the surface—especially when you’re trying to build love in a world that hasn’t always reflected, celebrated, or made space for relationships like ours.

I’ve been there. I’m just as human as you are.

That lived understanding shapes how I show up as a therapist. You won’t find a detached expert silently analyzing you from across the room. I’ll meet you with warmth, curiosity, honesty, humor, and a whole lot of heart. Therapy with me is a space where you can say the vulnerable thing, untangle the text conversation you’ve already analyzed twelve different ways, get curious about the parts of you that feel afraid, and practice choosing yourself without giving up on the love you desire.

My goal is to help you do more than understand your patterns. Together, we’ll explore where they began, care for the parts of you that learned to overgive or abandon themselves, and build the skills to approach love with greater confidence, clarity, and self-trust. Through the Queer Love Method, we’ll help you get clear about what you truly want, heal what has kept you stuck, and create a new way of dating and relating—one rooted in intention, authenticity, and secure connection.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, but I’m also a proud member of the queer community, singer-songwriter, educator, community builder, spiritual seeker, a Taurus through and through, and deeply hopeful human. I believe in manifestation, meaningful connection, chosen family, the wisdom of our inner parts, and the healing power of love and relationships. All of those pieces of me enter the therapy room—with grounded therapeutic support, practical tools, creativity, compassion, and genuine belief in what’s possible for you.

My Values As Your Therapist

  • Authenticity

I believe healing begins when we feel safe enough to be fully ourselves. As a queer woman, therapist, artist, and community builder, I know what it’s like to lose touch with parts of yourself while trying to belong. I strive to show up genuinely and create a space where you can take off the mask, reconnect with who you are, and build a life and relationships that truly reflect you.

  • Courage

It takes courage to look honestly at the patterns that have kept you safe—and begin choosing something different. I know from my own journey that courage doesn’t mean feeling fearless. It means listening to the quiet voice within you that knows you are ready for more. In therapy, we’ll honor your pace while helping you take brave, meaningful steps toward the love and life you desire.

  • Integrity

Your trust matters deeply to me. I approach our work with honesty, thoughtfulness, and respect for your autonomy, identity, and lived experience. I will never pretend to have all the answers or impose my idea of what your life should look like. Instead, we’ll listen for your own wisdom and make choices that align with your values, needs, and hopes.

  • Growth Mindset

I believe none of us are fixed or destined to repeat the same patterns forever. Throughout my own life, I have continued to learn, heal, reinvent myself, and begin again. I bring that same hope into our work: your struggles are not evidence that something is wrong with you. With curiosity, compassion, and practice, meaningful change is possible.

  • Making a Difference

For more than two decades, my work as a therapist, educator, social-emotional learning specialist, and founder of Magnetic Queer has been rooted in helping people feel seen, empowered, and less alone. I want our work to create change that reaches beyond the therapy room—helping you choose yourself, build healthier relationships, and show up more fully in your life and community.

Your Sapphic Dating and Relationship Therapist in Denver, CO

When I’m not in the therapy room, I’m usually dreaming up my next big idea—whether that’s planning a Magnetic Queer community event, making a vision board, writing a new song, or preparing to record my next album.

Creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, and connected has been a thread throughout my entire career. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a Chicago Public School teacher and social-emotional learning specialist. I created restorative-based curricula, facilitated community circles, trained teachers and helped schools become safer places rooted in love, belonging, and connection. That experience continues to shape how I approach therapy and community building today.

Music has always been another way I connect with people and make sense of the world. I built an award-winning career as a singer-songwriter, recorded and released four albums, performed internationally, and appeared on radio and television, including the Katie Couric Show. After stepping away from music for a season to focus on my therapeutic work, I’m now writing, recording, and performing again—and rediscovering how powerful it can be to return to a dream that never truly left you. When I’m not creating my own music, I’m usually listening to my favorite ’90s bands and singer-songwriters—especially the love songs, which feels very fitting for someone who spends so much of her life thinking about love and relationships.

I’ve also been studying, practicing, and teaching manifestation for more than 20 years. I’m deeply passionate about helping people understand the connection between healing and manifestation: how tending to our wounds, shifting the beliefs that keep us stuck, and becoming more fully ourselves can change what we believe is possible for our lives. To me, manifestation isn’t about pretending everything is perfect or simply thinking positively. It’s about getting clear on what you desire, rewiring those subconscious beliefs that keep you stuck, and taking aligned action toward the life and love you want.

I’m also a highly sensitive, deeply nostalgic introvert and homebody (hello, Taurus!). I love meaningful time with friends, but I’m equally happy journaling, pulling oracle cards, walking my dog Whitney at the park, or settling in for an evening of extraterrestrial documentaries, true crime, or YouTube rabbit holes. Going to the gym helps keep me grounded, while dreaming, manifesting, making music, and creating community help me feel most like myself.

I was born and raised in Chicago as the oldest of five kids. I’m a former athlete who also did theater and choir, and a former Catholic school kid—which means I learned early how to be responsible, perform under pressure, and follow the rules…and later, learned how to question those rules and decide which ones actually belonged to me.

At heart, I’m a sensitive, big-dreaming millennial who believes life can hold both deep healing, transformation, and genuine joy. I believe it’s never too late to make your dreams come true and that we have the ability to become more fully ourselves at every stage of life. Whether I’m facilitating a community circle, writing a song, or sitting with someone during a therapy session, my work has always centered around inspiring others to become who they truly are.
