Therapy for Queer Relationship Anxiety in Denver, CO
Services available virtually throughout Colorado.
Your mind rarely seems to quiet down. You replay conversations, analyze every text, question your decisions, and prepare for everything that could go wrong. You may look calm and capable on the outside, but underneath, you’re carrying constant tension—wondering whether you said the wrong thing, disappointed someone, or somehow aren’t doing enough.
For highly sensitive and heart-centered LGBTQ+ people, anxiety often goes deeper than everyday worry. It may be connected to old experiences of rejection, criticism, instability, or feeling as though you had to hide parts of yourself to belong. Over time, people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, and overthinking can become protective patterns—ways of trying to stay safe, maintain connection, and avoid being hurt.
Therapy can help you understand what’s underneath your anxiety rather than simply teaching you to push it away. Together, we’ll work with your nervous system, quiet the inner critic, care for the parts of you that feel afraid, and build practical tools for navigating triggers in real time. You can learn to trust yourself, feel more secure in your relationships, and make choices from clarity—not fear.
You don’t have to stop being sensitive, thoughtful, or deeply caring. The goal is to help you feel securely rooted in yourself, so your sensitivity can become a source of wisdom rather than something anxiety controls.
What Healing Can Look Like with LGBTQ+ Anxiety Therapy
A mind that doesn’t question everything — Imagine making a decision, sending a text, or having a conversation without replaying it twelve different ways. Therapy can help you step out of the overthinking spiral and trust yourself more readily.
Calm that doesn’t depend on reassurance — Instead of needing someone else to confirm that everything is okay, you can learn how to care for the anxious parts of yourself and create a greater sense of security from within.
Confidence rooted in who you are — Build self-worth that isn’t determined by how productive, pleasing, perfect, or easy to love you were today. You are worthy—even when someone is disappointed, something feels uncertain, or you make a mistake.
Boundaries without the guilt spiral — Learn to honor your needs, say no, and express what you truly feel without immediately worrying that you’ve upset someone or become “too much.”
Sensitivity that feels like a strength — You don’t need to become less caring, intuitive, or emotionally attuned. Together, we’ll help you work with your sensitivity so it can guide you without anxiety taking over.
Choices guided by clarity—not fear — Anxiety may tell you to shrink, stay silent, prepare for the worst, or keep everyone happy. Healing can help you hear your own inner wisdom and make choices aligned with the life, relationships, and future you genuinely desire.
A relationship with yourself that feels safe — Rather than criticizing yourself for feeling anxious, you can learn to understand what your anxiety is protecting, respond with compassion, and become someone you know you can rely on.

Maybe anxiety has made your world feel smaller. You avoid difficult conversations, second-guess opportunities, or stay in relationships and situations that don’t feel right because uncertainty feels overwhelming. Even during moments that should feel joyful, part of your mind is analyzing, anticipating, or preparing for what might go wrong. Anxiety therapy can help you feel more present in your life—not merely better at managing your worries.
Hi, I’m Katie, and I help highly sensitive LGBTQ+ and sapphic adults understand the deeper patterns beneath their anxiety. Together, we’ll gently explore the experiences, beliefs, and protective parts that contribute to overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and self-doubt. Using attachment-based therapy, IFS-informed parts work, inner-child healing, mindfulness, nervous-system regulation, and practical tools, we’ll move at a pace that honors your needs while creating meaningful change.
My hope is to help you spend less time questioning yourself and more time feeling grounded in who you are. You can learn to care for your anxious parts, trust your intuition, express your needs, and make choices that reflect the life and relationships you genuinely desire.
